Mesh Maps Nodes not showing

From within the meshtastic app under Mesh Maps i can only see my two devices.

If I go to meshmaps.net i can see hundreds of nodes, including mine.

Is it only showing what I am able to send to.

Note: we live in a rural area where there are not many nodes.

The app map will only show a node that your device has “seen” or got a heart beat from.
