RAK 4631 : how to wire a user button

In addition to the basic hardware reset button, Meshtastic manages a user one to scroll pages on the screen… I was told that the Rack 4631 may support a user button… So my questions
1- How to wire such a button?
2- When done, how will mashtastic firmware manage it ?? scrolling pages? or any other action? what about one or more , short and long button press
Thanks for your attention

I mounted an IO board (RAK 13002) and connected GND and IO5 there. In the photo the blue and purple cable.

Using the button, you can then scroll through pages, shut down the device and turn off GPS.

Thanks. Its uneasy… i read somewhere that io5 was available for user on the main board.
I was wrong

You can read the GPIO list here:

Thanks… i ordered an IO board

You can do it on a RAK19700 base board, no add-on modules necessary!
I just did this two two of mine, works great!

To add to this, something I didn’t even realize going into it…but on nodes with on-board GPS, a triple-click toggles power to the GPS, and on nodes with an e-Ink display, quad-clicks force a screen refresh.

thanks… ill try right now

You don’t need an IO board just for a user button. just solder it directly
