I’m using the iOS app with two nodes. Let’s call them node A and node B. Node firmware is 2.5.7.
Does anyone know the exact steps required in the iOS app to enable and configure remote administration so that node A can control node B using the new (still undocumented) method that was rolled out in firmware 2.5+? This is the new method that doesn’t require manually setting up a separate admin channel.
In the iOS app under “Settings → App Settings” I see a toggle called “Administration”. When I turn this on and go back to the root level of the Settings menu I now see a new “Configure” section that says:
Admin channel detected: Select a node from the drop down to manage connected or remote devices.
In the drop down menu I see both node A and B listed.
First, I don’t understand is if I’m supposed to turn on the “Administration” setting on node A, or on node B, or both. Second, the question in the new “Configure” section is vague and I’m not sure if I’m supposed to chose the opposite node or the one I’m connected to with the iOS app.
In short, I’d sure appreciate hearing from anyone who’s successfully configured this new remote admin setup. Please explain it to me like I’m 5 years old.
Thanks!
