Here’s a new video we put together explaining why “Background location access” is required in the Android app. Hopefully, the app will be re-instated back into the Play Store, when the folks at Google have reviewed it. yeah but no thanks, location stays turned off on my phones/tablets… main reason I love the web UI coming along where the devices can be configured and used without bluetooth, phone app and forced location access
for clarity, background location is only required when using “provide location to mesh”, which is completely voluntary and optional.
since the last release most users won’t ever see a permission request from the app, unless they use this feature.
