'Matter' officially released. Thoughts? OpenThread?

Hey folks! It’s been awhile!

After several delays, it appears ‘Matter’ has gone to 1.0, with the backing of a pile of the large players involved. I noticed a thread from a year+ ago, but nothing since, so I wondered what people’s thoughts on it were over here.

Google/Samsung/Amazon(with Eero) and others are all upgrading existing hardware to support, which includes Thread Mesh. At my day job (now a large OEM not listed), I’m off doing some investigation & gauging peoples interest in the tech, so I thought this would be the group to ask! Anyone playing around with it? Something Meshtastic might benefit from using someday?

Off to upgrade my T-Beams… I think I’m still running 1.28 or something :slight_smile:

Are you asking about interest in Matter in general or in relation to Meshtastic?

For the use cases that are generally given for Matter, I’m sticking with vanilla Zigbee and MQTT for commercial products and MySensors for custom devices.
