Indoor, outdoor nodes

Dewalt batteries and cheap usb chargers are perfect for my budding network. Need a better antenna, but it has a bnc bulkhead going through the top of the outdoor unit.

The 4AH 20v batteries keep it topped off for a week so far.

They make these usb adapters for some of the more popular brands of power tools, as well as 12v DC Power Wheels adapters that work well for manpack radios and simplex repeaters as well. Hope this helps!

I was talking to another guy last night about this very idea. does that usb pack shut off if the device does not draw enough current? The reason i ask is I have a few usb back up batteries that shut off when i have one t-lora device connected, because the t-lora does not draw enough current for the battery to think there is a load connect. I have several back up batteries that work fine also, so it is kind of hit and miss on whether a usb battery pack will work or not. I know the Onn brand from walmart that is rated at 4000mAh works well. I have not tried the 8000mAh model yet.
