I’ve got a tbeam with an 18650 battery and a solar panel going to its USB port, it’s set in router mode (which I think still sets it to ‘low power’ mode and doesn’t assume it has limitless power via usb?).
Anyhow overnight the battery got depleted but it doesn’t turn back on once the battery is charged, it appears I have to manually turn it in.
Is there a setting I may have overlooked? Or is this a limitation of the tbeam?
Router mode turns off BLE and WiFI, but can use more power as it potentially rebroadcasts lora more often. You are correct it will probably not turn back on if you run the battery completely out of power. A NRF device is a much better choice for solar, your USB panel may extend runtime a bit but it is unlikely to be able to continuously operate your tbeam.
I do plan on getting some NRF boards, they seem the cats meow when it comes to power usage, just setting up my current devices now as a mock up, i wish Amazon Canada have them stocked though!
