This might be a nobe question but i cant seem to find an answer. Im placing a solar node on a 30’ pole that contains the RAK Wisblock. Im not able to connect by bluetooth to the node. I have admin channel set up for admin stuff. I have a handheld node in the house that is set to client_mute so i will receive main channel messages but how do i go about getting direct messages without climbing a ladder or pulling down the node? Thanks in advance.
I don’t think you’re going to receive any random direct messages unless you’re actively using the node to chat with people. Since you have a handheld, chances are you will not be using the node that’s 30ft in the air to chat. You’re gonna use the handheld node for that, right?
That said, direct messages from anyone should just be sent to your handheld’s ID. I don’t see a situation where someone would be sending DM’s to a node they haven’t had a conversation with in the past…

Thank you. That does make sense. My first ever received message was this week after I sent out a message in primary long fast and the person sent back received in DM. I guess that’s not common though.
Might add the word relay or something like that to your node’s name just to let people know not to expect response from it. Also, I’d love if they’d introduce a feature like call forwarding to forward messages to another node too!
