i want to try Meshtastic and i’m searching for the right/best board,
i already have 2 heltec esp32 lora 868 v2 @home , i’d like to know if i flash the meshtastic firmware, is possible eventually to go back to the original one?

Riguardo l’acquisto delle radio Meshtadtic io per esempio le ho ordinate da banggood o da AliExpress
Da banggood ci sono opzioni di acquisto che hanno la consegna veloce da 7 a 10 giorni in Italia.
Per quanto riguarda i modelli dipende cosa vuoi spendere.
Io per esempio preferisco di più la
““LILYGO® TTGO T-Beam V1.1 ESP32 868Mhz WiFi Bluetooth ESP32 GPS NEO-6M”” dato che hanno anche il modulo gps, “Costano un po di più delle heltec però”
Per il firmware, se metti il firmware Meshtastic dovresti rifare la stessa cosa per rimettere di nuovo il firmware originale che suppongo sia disponibile dal sito del produttore o dal sito del firmware stesso.
Se hai qualche domanda riguardo al firmware Meshtastic, come per esempio metterlo su le tue heltec non esitare di chiedere.

grazie 1000 per la risposta, infatti alla fine le ho comprate da aliexpress (ci hanno messo pure l’iva, spero almeno non me le fermino in dogana…), ho preso esattamente quelle che hai proposto solo che ho preso quelle col nuovo gps NEO-M8N se non erro, che spero essere più recenti e migliorate, ho preso a parte i 2 display con corretto orientamento del VCC-GND rispetto a quelli che normalmente si trovano in commercio altrimenti non sarebbero andati bene salvo trafficare coi pin ed invertirli ma mi piacciono le cose pulite

I have no EU sources to recommend for T-Beams, but they do occasionally pop up on amazon.it, though they might be clones (the antenna connector is MCX/U.FL as opposed to SMA).
Now that Aliexpress collects VAT, parcels seems to be getting through Italian customs much faster than ever before, at least in my experience.
