Got the Heltec v3 and cannot get it to work with any version of the meshtastic firmware on iPhone or Android.
On the screen it says
GPS disabled
LongFast
Unpowered…
What am i doing wrong? I thought GPS was passed to device from the phone via bluetooth…
Any ideas? I’ve tried disabling GPS and enabling it via the Meshtastic App.
You have to turn it on in either phone app, did you do that?
Yes Garth, I went into Iphone Meshtastic App - App settings. and enabled Share location… Update Interval is set to 10 seconds.
Under the App Settings - Phone GPS it shows coordinates and sats estimate with around 10 satellites.
So the app is seeing GPS, but the Heltec isn’t either getting it or showing it.
Still says GPS disabled on the screen
Gps disabled will always show on the screen unless you have a device gps.

So from what you’re saying: GPS Disabled = expected to be displayed when no physical GPS on the device (i.e. the Heltec v3)
I presume Unpowered = no battery connected, only powered by USB?
Still doesn’t help my situation, i am still unable to send a message. I just get Max retransmission reached and no message goes through.
Also, what does the flashing white LED mean? Can the LED be switched off?
Anything i need to try?
Are other nodes nearby?
Open settings on your iPhone, scroll down and open Meshtastic, Location is at the top make sure it is on
