Hi just saw that its still not in google play.

Just a question.
The swiss covid app has also ble enabled in the background (dialogue informing the user) but its using the dp3t android sdk.
I know its theoretically not the same but technically its the same thing.

Instead tracing people who was together with who, meshtastic is using this technology to communicate with an external device…

So is this missing in meshtastic? (An explicit information why and for what the bluetooth, gps needs to be enabled?)

Do we need to send them 2 devices, 2 phones to them so they can try it out?

Or is there a political issue?

first we have to understand Google makes Android, and like any other Operating System, Android does whatever it wants. programs and apps, on the other hand, run under the OS terms.

ExposureNotification framework (provided by Google) is integrated as part of Google Play Services (system level) and only whitelisted public health authorities have access to it.

in short, it is a hack and it is not available.
