What to do with a broken TBeam?

I have a TBeam with a broken USB port (I dropped it and the pins lifted off the board).

I can still see serial output through the TX/RX pins with a USB to TTL converter. But I am unable to flash/upgrade the firmware. I’ve tried 3 different (with 3 different chipsets) converts. Errors out all the time.

I don’t have the equipment to fix/replace the USB connector. So… Any advice on how I can flash/update my TBeam or is it ‘broke real good’?

How far are you from Dallas, Texas?:+1:

Way far… I’m up in Connecticut.

I was able to flash/update my TBeam with an external USB to TTL adapter by grounding out GPIO Pin 0 (putting in boot mode). For now it’s in wounded mode, but it’s going to be a base unit.

I would be glad to help repair it for you if the USB connector needs soldering back. I might even have a few USB connectors around here, if you need one.

Buy a proper solder iron and increase your electronic skills. It is not a miracle to repair it.
