Variant for the TTGO T-SIM7000G

I’ve got the TTGO T-SIM7000G that has a cellular modem instead of a lora radio and I’m planning on making a cellular based GPS tracker out of it. I was thinking that instead of starting from scratch that I could fork meshtastic since so much has already been done. In theory could making a variant without a lora radio work?

Not sure why you’d want to build from Meshtastic when there is already GPS tracker code for the T-SIM.
