I just received a ttgo-lora32-v2-1.6 board and flashed ffirmware-tlora-v2-1-1.6-EU865-1.1.50.bin in it and started testing connecting it to USB port on my PC. I noticed that the communication protocol from the ttgo-v2 board includes information on the batterylevel in POSITUON_APP messages showing values between 70 and 80% even though no battery is actully connected. I have no battery in my hands now so I could not test any further but I was surprised to see such an indication as it doesn’t appear in ttgo-v1 nor in ttgo-tbeam (I do not have battery yet) I am already using. I was aware a resistive partitor should be mounted on the battery to connect the ADC pin on ESP32 to measure the voltage so I was surprised that ttgo-v2 had already something built in to supply this information. What is the truth then?
I believe that was reviewed here.
