Repeaters without current firmware

  1. Is it possible to use a Meshtastic 1.2 device as a repeater in a Meshtastic 2 network? Will it forward packets?

  2. Can a non-Meshtastic LoRa device set to the same radio channel be used as a repeater? Will it break the mesh when packets are simply retransmitted without accounting for the hop limit?
