I encountered an interesting issue on 2.5.0.ab7de7f Heltecv3 but this might have no correlation to that.
I was pulling out the 18650 from the battery holder and after I re-inserted a new one the firmware had reset to default settings and the meshtastic firmware was in pairing mode.
After importing my old configuration ALL nodes show as unknown username and will not update.
I have now updated to 2.5.0.33eb073 Tech Preview to see if this changes anything.
Update: every time I now disconnect and conect to the node, the nodes previously seen are also flushed/removed from the list in the app
Not sure if this helps, but I had purchased six Heltec v3 nodes and one would keep resetting on power disconnect/battery change. Flashing the node had no effect, nor did switching firmware versions. Since it was only that one node, I returned it for another and have not had any further issues.
Hmm, theres ofcourse a possibility but its the first time it has happened and it did happen after most likely a user error.
I am currently doing a full erase and install with 2.4.3.91d6612 alpha to see if that does anything.
But I have a feeling this might be android phone app sided (beta) and I might need to clear cache and data.
Alright so I’ve tried just about everything but after unpairing the heltec I now cannot get it to show up in the app anymore. The pairing process finishes and then it is just never picked up in the app.
Something has gone wrong thats for sure hahah
Wifi works though!
Update: the permissions were deleted together with the data so the app didnt have any permissions and thats why the node was not showing.
If the device was working and now is doing this, maybe flashing will work. The issue I had was from the get-go with a new device, so that’s why I replaced it.
Hopefully someone whom has more experience with the Heltec v3 chimes in.
