How are multiple admins handled?
Say a growing mesh has a few people who each run a few repeaters (or is router mode better? Still trying to understand the difference, esp with store and forward)
Example
First person has 3 nodes they wish to admin.
Second person has 3 nodes they wish to admin.
All nodes can reach each other in one way or another
Each set of 3 has admin channel.
Will each person be able to admin their own devices or will conflict arise? It seems like this is possible but it’s not clear reading through any info I can find. The channel name would be the same, but the keys would be different so I’m theory it works?
Has anyone done this successfully?
All six devices would be on the same normal channel. LongFast, or whatever you want to use. And they would all share the same password.
Three of the devices would have an admin channel with a password of SuperSecretPass123. And the other three would have an admin channel with the password ILikeMesh567.
This way they would all be on the same mesh network and work together, but the only way you could remotely control a node is if you have the admin channel with the correct password that’s set on the device.
So yes, your example is correct.
Hope this helps!
PS, since they are all using the same channel name but a different PSK, the admin channel can also work over MQTT and still be secure.
