Meshtastic stratospheric balloon from Poland

On Friday, October 25, at 08:00 UTC, we will launch a stratospheric balloon equipped with two LORA Meshtastic devices.
One module will operate as a “Client” in the EU433 band in Long_Fast mode !9387a44c.
The second will also function as a “Client” in the EU868 band !433aad3, initially in Long_Fast mode. At 10:00 UTC, I will attempt to switch the second EU868 device to Medium_Fast mode. Both devices will automatically retransmit all received data packets from other users located on the ground. This will enable communication over hundreds of kilometers. The experiment aims to investigate the range of LORA devices.

nice project Thank you for letting us participate
i know , setting default channel should be easy, but coud you post the
QR code for the medium- fast?

and do you have a prediction of how high it can go,
is it 30km !?
and a coverage prediction for the radio signal?

aah i checked it myself… possible from Berlin to Minsk. but not to my place

We expect the balloon to ascend to an altitude of 25-30 km, possibly higher. The duration in the stratosphere can range from 4 hours to as long as… 18 hours. Once, we had a case where our balloon flew for an entire day and night, and landing near Berlin. However, the opposite can also happen, and the balloon may burst after just 2 hours.
The signal range may be around 400, possibly 500 km. Tropospheric ducts are forecasted for Friday, so it could get interesting.
