Lilygo T-Deck Battery Life

I ordered a couple of these T-Decks to use for emergencies on an upcoming trip to an earthquake-prone environment in case cell towers are knocked out. I also got 6600 mAH batteries to power them and was wondering what kind of battery life some of you are seeing on your T-Decks and what mAH batteries you went with?

I do apologize if this has been asked before, I searched the forums and Reddit and didn’t see anyone posting battery life.

Hello
I am using T-Deck with 18650 Battery 3400 mA.
With GPS on it will not last more than 12H. Now if you shut the GPS off in your settings the battery life will greatly improve to 20H appx.
The GPS coords can be pulled of your device ,phone, tablet etc.

Thanks, I appreciate the response! It helps me estimate what I might be able to see with a 6600 mAh battery. Also planning on traveling with 2 20000 mAh battery banks should I need it for prolonged use it a would be disaster strikes while traveling.

Dumb question, can I power Tdeck with two 18650 in series?

If you had a proper battery pack I am sure you could. Not sure about the connector bit though as I have yet to receive mine that I ordered yet lol just gathering info while I patiently wait.

I got a case with two battery holders. I put them in series and it didn’t work. Might have been my soldering. Working on one battery. Will try again.

dont put in series, put parrallel !

in series you get double voltage, t-deck wont like that.
in parrallel you get double capacity, t deck will like that

Thanks. survived. Wouldn’t fire up in series. Put on 1 battery and it seems to work fine. Challenge will be how it will charge. I will charge them elsewhere and put in parallel.

have them both at about the same charge (voltage) when connecting parrallel, then its no problem.
t deck will handle them as if it was 1 battery. no problem
i have seen on dicord, some people connecting 20+ pieces in parralel to power heltec devices…

Thank you very much for that!

BTW, OT, any idea about any ALT key combinations for the keyboard?

That is a nice datapoint! I have a WisBlock Starter kit using the RAK4630 module and an 850mAh LiPo cell and it can last for DAYS with that little bugger! It would be so awesome to see a T-Deck running on an RAK4630 module. The RAK4631/4630 uses the Nordic Semiconductor nRF54820 chip that is very energy efficient,
