It's finally here! Meshenger!

I’m so stoked to finally have this device. I’ve been waiting for months for it to be finished and following @tropho23’s design and development process. I received this the other day and I have been testing and exploring it as much as I can. Haven’t been out into the field with it yet, but that’ll come soon. If you’ve considered purchasing one of these, I can’t recommend it enough. The craftsmanship is superb, the attention to detail that went into making this device definitely is shown in the final product. You get that hand assembled quality but it honestly feels like a device a big company would be selling. It’s amazing and I seriously doubt anyone will be disappointed in the purchase.

Also, @tropho23 has been absolutely amazing during the whole purchase process. Very responsive to questions as well. He’s done amazing work to get a lot of features added to the firmware to support this device and it really shows. If anyone wants to purchase one, I would recommend soon as there’s a special introductory price for the first batch. You can purchase via his Etsy Store.

The RTTL support is so fun lol. @tropho23 set this one when he sent my order. I’m keeping it! lol (forgive the fan in the background, it sounds like a jet engine in this video  ) For those that are thinking the sound is familiar, the text in the video will give you a hint lol

Good news for all the DIY-ers out there, @tropho23 has released the files to his printables page that will allow those with the required skills and highly calibrated 3D printer to make their own Meshenger! Printables

As not everyone is able to cut acrylic or possibly print TPU, he does also offer a DIY kit on his Etsy story for $20 that will include all these pieces (excellent way to support him for the work he put in creating this device, while also making it easier on you to build your own!). Hope to see more posts of people with their Meshengers soon!

Thanks for the plug! I’m excited to finally release it to the community and hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.

Hi there, I have a question about Meshenger and I don’t know where to ask it, except for here.

Is it possible to change the channel?
It seems only to use the Longfast channel what I can’t seem to change.
When possible, how do I change it?

Many thanks in advance!

Niels

Yes, you can send on secondary channels by using the tab key on the keyboard.

Thanks for the answer
It seems not possible though to change from LongFast channel to a VLongSlow channel.
I guess in a way that should be possible, but I don’t see how.

No, that would require changing your devices LoRa modem preset which can’t be done on standalone devices. You’d have to use a client like the apps or cli. These devices can only use one modem preset at a time and it’s a device side setting.

Thanks a lot for your answer.
I will then just keep using the standard LongFast setting.

I have one question left:
Everytime I receive a message on my Meshenger device, it makes a loud sound and vibrates.
This continues until I press a button on the device.
Is it possible to turn that off or at least that sound and vibration stops automatically?

Thanks again

Yes, you can set the nag timeout to 0. You can find this under the external notifications module settings.

Is there a way to reset the Meshenger to its original settings?

Except that my Meshenger is vibrating shortly every 5 seconds, it not responding.
A serial connection causes the usb connection to reset every 5 seconds as well.
So I am not able to change settings over the browser client.

Any help appreciated!
