Can not change name or send messages android app

Greetings, I’m running the android app on an acer r11 chrome book, didnt have this issue yesterday but today I do, this issue is occurring in both released version and the beta version.

App connected to heltec 1.0-us/1.1.0

can not change name and can not send messages.
I see incoming messages on device
I can type in the send message text box, but upon hitting enter no message sends. Worked fine yesterday.

I have submitted a bug report.

and just to tick the boxes,

i’ve uninstalled reinstalled both the beta and normal version
unpaired and repaired bluetooth
restarted the android device
restarted the heltec device,

so strange because it was working great yesterday
