My messages are only traveling in one direction

I’m trying to setup a t-beam network and have two t-beams (running v 1.2.53) and two matching android 11 phones sitting on my desk. Everything connect but messages will only travel in one direction, i.e. phone #2 to phone #1 and not vice versa. Sending back the other way (phone 1 to 2) awakens the t-beam paired to that phone, but doesn’t seem to awaken the receiving t-beam connected to the 2nd phone. Anyone have any ideas?

Update: After toggling back and forth from BT to Nodes, I notice that the channel name keeps changing on one of the phones. I will resend the channel name to the other phone to get them synced back up, but after leaving them sit for 20-30 minutes, they will loose connection with each other again.

I recommend testing with the default channel first to discard any hardware fault.

there are reports of radios dropping TX power after changing channels, try a device reset after that. I’ve also seen strange behavior from radios sitting too close together.

I’m using app version 1.2.52

I am testing all this on a workbench with device and phone all next to each other.

starting from firmware 1.2.52+ devices don’t sleep by default anymore, you can confirm with the led blink every second or so.

also the device sending the message won’t display it on the screen, only the receiving end will.
