Meshing a town : how many nodes suffice to cover a given area?

The mesh in Munich DE is expanding nicely. A map showing some sample points of coverage is in this link. Meshtastic Munich good locations - Google My Maps
The red points are examples of well-placed fixed nodes (at the level of top of high-rise buildings or high-points of landscape) that provided the coverage shown with green squares. The node locations are dummy approximate locations. Two well-positioned nodes’ locations that contribute to this coverage (as are visible in some of the traceroutes) are of unknown location & so cannot be shown on the map, as are a few others. About 6 high nodes seem to suffice to cover most of a town center: which is rather surprising to a radio newbie like me. The few locations further out are an indication that the coverage is good even further out, but mapping larger areas manually is of course harder.
