Config:

Long_Slow

tx power 10 DBM : 400 mts

tx power 22 DBM : 750 mts

The Base is located a 20 Metes altitude in a window , the other one is in my bacpack.

Buenos Aires city a lot of buldings. -34.63503227798184, -58.394793078704495

Make sure the antenna used is the correct polarity SMA. That can ruin your day quick.

I did a more extensive test to compare the short stock antenna and the 20 cm from Ali Express. it seams some advantage.
Let me know what do you think about results…

I tested at 1200 meters from the first floor, around 5 meters, and on the other side at 20 meters in a window.
At 1200 Mts from the steet level Ive not connection. At 850 Mts Ive a good connection.

I had testing 433mzh before is more than 750m range, more than 2km is possbile, but many factor could be effort the range, like deploy position, city environment ,building, antenna …
Maybe you can deploy Lora outside of window, please do not deploy at indoor, glass of window will effort the signal, range will become less.
Choice a good antenna match 433mhz lora or diy 1/4 Wave ground plane antenna(it easy to made)would make your range get more.

What’s your goal? How far do you need to get?
I’m getting 3 km distance and still see 100% signal (at 433 MHz), but you need a line of sight for that.
Place one node as high as possible on the top of the building you live in.
And then, the noise within cities can be very high, which limits your range.

There is no range goal, it’s just a hobby, and Im testing what Lora and Meshtastic can do.

Now Im trying to send the message from Meshtastic to an ESP8266 by wifi (serial or MQTT).
