Just an update on progress - although I have successfully sent messages between two T-Beams, progress has ground to a halt down to hardware problems…
Neither of the two T-Beams, I purchased in October, have managed to record any satellites and the one T-beam will occasionally lock up.
When looking at the possibility of using a better antenna it was found that the ufl connectors appear to be not properly fixed to the boards - on the one board the connector separated from the board and either the insulator or solder balls dropped out.
Can anyone confirm if this is the insulator or the solder:
If it’s the insulator, the only sign of solder appears to be a tiny amount on the one side - if it’s the solder I assume that the antenna was shorting out.
In either case my soldering skills are anywhere near good enough to re-fix the connectors
