The reason the app isn’t working is:

You need to enable location access, otherwise Android doesn’t let us talk to bluetooth - the little warning we pop up is probably too brief for those that haven’t.
btw: I really need to add a “put your email address here box” for bug reports in the app, because I have no way of finding whoever reported these things
