Contributor License Agreements

Happy Friday (or whatever day you read this)!!

Over the last few days we have rolled out a Contributor License Agreement to all of our repositories in GitHub. This contributor license agreement, signed by the contributor, is there to protect this project by ensuring that contributors have the the proper rights for the contribution.

In short, it means that once a contributor contributes to the project, they have the proper rights for the contribution and the contribution is final – the contribution can’t be revoked by the contributor.

If you contribute code, you will be asked to sign the agreement via a link in GitHub prior to your PR being accepted to the project. Luckily, this is a one time activity (unless we change the license) and is tracked for us by SAP.

We are also working on an entity contributor agreement for if a contribution would be provided from a company with multiple contributors. That’ll come in due time. If that’s something you need, please contact an admin and we’ll help out.

This is a huge stepping stone for us as we have reached over 120 contributors across all our repositories. It’s really very touching and I’m proud to be part of such a positive community.
