Unanswered questions that should probably be answered on the website in a FAQ

Hi!

I stumbled across this project and even after reading through a lot I still have some questions:

• Will the meshtastic mesh span across devices with identic configuration or will it mesh with any meshtastic device?
• Will the device location be exposed only within the channel or will it be exposed for others as well?
• Can I be in multiple channels at once?
• If meshtastic devices form a big mesh, is there a default channel accessible for everyone?

I currently don’t have a meshtastic node, so I really can’t just figure it out on my own without buying multiple lora boards.

Currently, it’ll only mesh with other nodes with the same configuration.

It’ll only be exposed within the same channel.

The protocol supports sub channels, but that’s not yet implemented.

One day when the support for sub channels is complete, yes.
