I am going to put a RAK Wisblock repeater up on a mountain top that will likely not see any updates for at least a year, could be longer.
How far back will the most current firmware version be compatible with? If this is even an issue.

usually version 1.x is compatible with 1.x
2.x with 2.x (there were some small problems with differnet 2.x versions lately, some changes were made in the unencrypted header !) so you should use newer firmware on all devices now.
but:
there will be an update to version 3.x of meshtastic firmware… probably this wont be compatible with 2.x firmware…
