TTGO Tbeam v1.1 battery questions

I have a couple of questions.

I have some LiFePo4 A123 batteries packaged in 16550 size battery packages so the voltage shows low on the default reading of the meter on the OLED display. I remember reading somewhere that one of the updates to firmware allowed for changing the charging voltage. Does someone have an idiots guide to how to the meshtastic command to run to change that so it charges and reports correctly? 3.2v

Second question, I made a 4 pack of these batteries in parallel with my Kweld battery welder, then wired them in parallel to the battery holder in the Tbeam. I verified voltage was not double or over voltage before wiring it up… I never smelled or heard magic smoke but it died and then the upper edge above the OLED started to HEAT UP!!! I cut the wire and pulled the battery out of the holder and when I put a battery back in the holder, it heats up again. Is this board a lost cause or is there any way to troubleshoot which component shorted out?

I would bet that the AXP is what got hot.
