QI wireless charging for sealed waterproof unit

Just ordered parts to eventually create a waterproof sealed Meshtastic device. That will use inductive charger receiver. Always on. No buttons. No exposed usb port. Thinking resin filled. None replaceable battery. The idea being , bike riders in our group just throw the device in their rucksack or a buckle clip , robust so no need to worry about breaking it or getting it wet. Would however be nice feature if it could be over the air firmware updated, as hermetically sealed there won’t be any way to reprogram it via the USB port. Or are disposable items with lipo in them being none recyclable frowned upon? Alternatively a case that is 100% water proof and small as possible, with inductive charging.

Received wireless charger and hooked it up through the usb port of TTGO. and i can can confirm it can charge and run it at the same time. However always on and none replaceable battery is going to troublesome. Just been running an esp32 wemos D1 out in the field. With li-ion battery 3.7v attached, which spends most of it’s life in deep sleep, only to wake on vibration. recovered it after 4 months only to discover no recorded data after 3 months. Concluded the battery had gone completely flat. And would not recharge. So issue being leaving an esp32 permanently running and left to go flat will not recharge, as there is clearly no low voltage cut off circuit as part of the charging circuit. At least not on the wemos D1

Some 18650 batteries have buildt in protection against deep discharge, maybe yours didn’t?
I’d try to get a battery with confirmed protection circutry, discharge it and see if it would recharge in your project. Should be fairly swift to check.
