Problems Programming with Raspberry Pi Zero W

Hi,

Has any body tried programming the TTGO TBeams using a Raspberry PI Zero? As soon as I plug mine in it causes the Pi to reboot.

I am guessing it’s drawing too much current and the voltage drops but that seems crazy given these boards are ment to draw verry little current.

It works ok if I use a powered hub so it’s not the end of the world.

Cheers
Paul

Did The ttgos have a battery? If so I’ve measured a peak USB power draw of 500mAish which is right at the USB Max spec.

Otherwise the ttgo will draw up to 200mAish briefly at start.

Thanks for the power details. Currently I am running without a battery so 200mA should not case an issue.

I’ve just tried the official power supply too and still no joy. On the Pi W the USB power is a feed through so as long as the supply can handle it there should be no issue. Given the pi takes <200mA a 2.5A supply should be able to handle 700mA

I’ll stick with the powered hub for now so I can at least start having a play with the setup.
