We should have very clear and published guidelines around usage of the trademark. He’s seen a lot of opensource projects fork where both forks take the original name. This would cause not only a split in the community, but also a potential legal headache and overhead for the core maintainers where the intent is to just have fun and develop something cool. That sort of overhead very easily makes people less willing to contribute.
