He offered two resources … The first was the “Software Freedom Law Center” - they’re a group of law students and lawyers that want to provide probono assistance to open source projects. The second was that we may be able to take advantage of the Linux Foundation. He suggested this would be a good option of we start to see commercial adoption of Meshtastic. They’d be able to provide not only legal frameworks to keep companies happy (say two companies want to do something similar with meshtastic or want assurances that their corporate rights are also being protected) The linux foundation would act as a “Legal Home” (he used that phrase a lot through out the conversation) and would also be able to provide some minimal marketing like getting invitations to conferences to talk about meshtastic.
