IMO (if it is like other RAK boards I purchased in the past):

Pros compared to a TBEAM:

  • more ‘industrial strength / less hobbyist’ focused hardware, industrial design & documentation.
  • much lower current draw (because nrf52)
  • off the shelf enclosure with solar
  • bluetooth can stay always awake for close to zero power cost (because nrf52)
  • plugable sensor modules (I purchased the pressure/temp module because I’d like to add a paragliding/automatic mesh thermal heatmap/vario plugin)

Cons compared to a TBEAM:

  • more expensive
  • no wifi (because nrf52)
